Jana Grujic overcomes a 13.7 mm disc herniation, cancels surgery, and gets off her pain meds
“In Nov. 2021 I developed sciatica, the most debilitating pain down my left leg. Every morning, I had to warm up for hours before my commute to work, but sitting in a car would make my leg numb. My pain got so bad that I couldn’t sleep, walk, sit, or stand. I had to stop working. Everything was AGONY.
My MRI showed a 13.7mm L4-L5 herniated disc, compressed nerves & severe central canal stenosis.
For 3 months, I tried PT, muscle relaxers, painkillers, Rx for nerve pain, epidural injections… nothing worked. Seeing a chiro only exacerbated my symptoms.
I was in 24/7 extreme pain and had poor sleep - all of that made me mentally and physically exhausted.
I was so sad to hear that the only option left was back surgery.
So a microdiscectomy was scheduled. I had 2 weeks to see if there was another way out.
And then, my sister recommended Whealth.
I canceled the surgery and joined Limitless knowing this was my last ticket to natural recovery.
It was so hard in the beginning, but it was even harder to think about surgery not knowing what my life will look like afterwards. The amazing Whealth FB community helped me to persist.
In just 4 weeks, my mobility improved and pain levels dropped. I worked on nutrition & sleep, and most importantly - mindset. This was crucial during my recovery because it was so depressing being in 10/10 pain for so long.
I got a second MRI 3 months into the program, and the disc had shrunk so much that only a small bulge was showing on the image. I had a follow-up with 2 neurosurgeons and they were amazed with the progress I made, saying I no longer needed surgery. Great proof how the body heals if you give it some time and the right movement.
Limitless has helped me drastically reduce the consumption of painkillers; I went from taking 3,000 mg/day of Tylenol down to 500mg every other day. I still have pain below the knee, but I’m back to doing most of the activities in my daily life (I can mop the whole house!). I’m also back to the gym LIFTING - something I thought I would NEVER do.
I just wish I had joined the program years sooner. I can’t wait to improve more in the next few months and tell everyone that I’m pain free.” - Jana Grujic, 30
